'The soul is born,' he said vaguely, 'first in those moments I told you of. It has a slow and dark birth, more mysterious than the birth of the body. When the soul of a man is born in this country there are nets flung at it to hold it back from flight. You talk to me of nationality, language, religion. I shall try to fly by those nets.'
Davin knocked the ashes from his pipe.
'Too deep for me, Stevie,' he said. 'But a man's country comes first. Ireland first, Stevie. You can be a poet or a mystic after.'
'Do you know what Ireland is?' asked Stephen with cold violence. 'Ireland is the old sow that eats her farrow.'

Hey, just checking up on you. Everything alright? :)

Thanks for dropping by!

I'm busy as hell, but the semester is finally ending, and starting July I'll have more time to finally resume all that stuff I left hanging.

How are you?

Well, the last mile is the longest, as they say :) But you're almost there, I'm sure that if you stretch you'll be able to smell the finish line! But I'm glad to hear you're doing fine, even though you're so busy :)

I'm a bit bummed actually, since I failed my driver's test yesterday, and it was my second time, too. The first time I wasn't looking around me well enough, so I was just plain dangerous xD But yesterday the problem was that I was being too careful, as in: I let others take the initiative too often, so I kind of took the 'flow' out of traffic, and apparently they fail you for that xD Which sucks, because I drove for half an hour before that and that went damn near perfectly! My instructor and I think it was a combination of stress and pressure (it was my second time taking the exam after all) that did me in.

In other news, I might - MIGHT! - have a job soon. You see, I applied for this information management traineeship with a company that specializes in stuff like that and had a few talks with them and everything. So last week, on Monday, they said to me: "Okay, we'll call you next Thursday to tell you what you've decided", so I dutifully wait, right? Well, it turns out they are NOT SURE yet!!!! They have other applicants too who they want to talk to, and only NEXT FRIDAY can they tell me, definitely this time, if they want me or not. I felt like screaming when I heard that xD Even so, I really want to get the job, because at least the people there are really nice, despite this little... 'mistake', and a lot of emphasis is put on the trainee and their personal traits and qualities and wishes, and also, there's a high chance of a fulltime job with one of their clients after completing the traineeship. So yeah, fingers crossed! :D

That... turned our way more elaborate than I though, hahaha!

Thank you so much for the morale boost!

I would tell you not to sweat about your driver's test too much. I mean, it sucks, sure, but it is more common than the norm to repeat it a number of times, right? And its not like you can't drive, you did it before the test, you just need to get the hang of staying cool for it. Which I'm sure you'll get to eventually. Matter of time. =)

Ugh, I hate having to wait for this sort of thing. You didn't seem pleased either at how they treated you. But, oh well, free working market and all that. And if you at least enjoyed their proposal so much to the point of glossing over their "mistake", I'll keep all my fingers crossed for you to get the traineeship. Sure thing ;)
